Two days after West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee wrote a letter to all opposition leaders urging them to unite for a united fight against the BJP, her party spokesperson Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi praised the initiative and extended support to her tweet.
After Mamata Banerjee’s letter on Wednesday, Abhishek Manu Singhvi tweeted that the non-BJP opposition “needs time”, adding that Mamata was “her pillar”.
“Opposition to non-BJP needs time now. # Mamata is a pillar of hers. For the year 2024, combine 2 of each component into 2 resistance votes, by state, 2024. The BJP’s best victories never exceed 39% of the popular vote. Mamata and everyone else must work hard to bring the non-BJP space together, “Abhishek Manu Singhvi tweeted.
No. #BJP Opposition now needs time. # Compassion That’s a pillar. For the year 2024, combine 2 of each component into 2 resistance votes, by state, 2024. The BJP’s best victories never exceed 39% of the popular vote. Mamata and everyone else must push every sign to unify the non-BJP space. — Abhishek Singhvi (rDrAMSinghvi) March 30, 2022
Abhishek Manu Singh’s tweet was mentioned in TMC mouthpiece Jago Bangla. ‘What he tweeted is what the future holds. 2024 BJP government will have to change. We have to see that the votes of the opposition are not divided. Clearly, as Manu Singhvi rightly pointed out, Mamata is the face of these opponents. Singhvi has actually revealed the real truth.
Mamata Banerjee is the only opposition leader who can coordinate.
He has experience of running important ministries in the central government and he has given a fair defeat to the BJP in 2021, ”the spokesperson said.
Sharad Pawar also supported the call of Mamata’s united opponents. While opposition leaders appear to be backing his initiative, it remains to be seen whether it will take the right path, political experts say.
