AIADMK, DMK after withdrawal of SC strike on Vaniya reservation issue

The opposition AIADMK and the ruling DMK have started blaming each other for the internal conservation of 10.5 per cent of the powerful Vania community among the most backward class conservationists.

Just before the announcement of the 2021 elections, the previous AIADMK government passed the reservation under Edappadi K Palaniswami as the coalition partner PMK was relentlessly campaigning for 10.5 per cent internal reservation for the Vaniya community out of the 20 per cent MBC reservation.

The DMK government issued an internal reservation order after the 2021 assembly elections. However, the Madras High Court quashed the order and the Supreme Court of India upheld the Madras High Court judgment.

Following the cancellation of the internal reservation by the Supreme Court of India, PMK leader Dr S. Ramadoss came out and said that the reason for the court strike was to provide internal information to the government on various communities.

The DMK and AIADMK entered into a war of words after the powerful Vaniya community and its political arm came out against the government for not providing information to various communities in the state.

Former Chief Minister K. Palaniswami and the then law minister and AIADMK leader, CV Shanmugan, said it was a strike by the court to protect the DMK government.

DMK senior leader and Tamil Nadu Water Resources Minister S. Duraimurugan said the Palaniswami government had enacted legislation to save 10.5 per cent for the entire Vaniya community for electoral gains just before the 2021 assembly elections. He said it was unfortunate for AIADMK leader Palaniswami that the Supreme Court had upheld the Madras High Court’s order canceling the 10.5 per cent reservation for the Vanier community as the DMK government failed to provide details.

AIADMK leader and former law minister CV Shanmugham, who piloted the bill for 10.5 per cent internal preservation for veneers, also blamed the DMK government’s failure to provide data in court to substantiate the reservation, which led to the cancellation. Save.

Meanwhile, PMK leader, Dr. S. Ramados called on Chief Minister MK Stalin to intervene immediately and provide relevant information on conservation for the most disadvantaged communities.

S. Speaking to IANS, Duraimurugan said, “AIADMK is frustrated after going to Chief Minister MK Stalin to support the protection of his ally PMK and its leader, Dr. S. Ramadoss. Is doing. “

He said the state government would take appropriate decisions acceptable to the Vanier community in consultation with legal experts.

The DMK and AIADMK are blaming each other for the internal preservation of the vaniers as the community is strong in North Tamil Nadu and will not be helpful to the Dravidian chiefs in Tamil politics in the long run.
