Allocation of portfolio of ministers of Uttarakhand, CM Dhami in charge of 23 persons

About a week after the swearing in, the ministers of the Uttarakhand government have been given charge of various departments. The portfolio allocation was announced on Tuesday night.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken charge of more than two dozen departments. These include housing, industrial development (mining), justice, labor, excise, environmental protection and climate change, disaster management and rehabilitation, and civil aviation. Satpal Maharaj has been given 10 portfolios including Public Works Department, Panchayati Raj, Rural Construction, Culture, Tourism, Water Resources Management, Irrigation and Minor Irrigation.

Finance, urban development, legislative and parliamentary affairs, restructuring and census went to Prem Chand Agarwal. Chandan Ram Das, who is a minister for the first time, has been given charge of social welfare, minority welfare, road transport and small and medium enterprises.

Another new face in Dhami’s cabinet is Saurabh Bahuguna. He has been made Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries, Sugarcane Development and Sugar Industry, Protocol, Skill Development and Employment.

Ganesh Joshi has been made Minister for Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Soldiers Welfare and Rural Development. Dhan Singh Rawat is in charge of School Education – Basic and Secondary – Sanskrit Education, Cooperatives, Higher Education, Medical Health and Medical Education. Subodh Union has been made Minister of Forest, Language, Election and Technical Education.

Rekha Arya has been given the portfolios of Women Empowerment and Child Development, Food and Citizen Supplies, Consumer Affairs, Sports and Youth Welfare. On March 23, Dhami’s cabinet was sworn in.
