Describing it as a “conspiracy” to disrupt peace in Karnataka, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bomai on Friday said that some anti-social elements were trying to tarnish the image of the state by sending bomb threats to several private schools in Bangalore via e-mail. Necessary precautions are being taken and parents are requested not to be alarmed by the ongoing investigation.

Immediately after receiving the threatening e-mail, police immediately rushed to the scene, conducting a search operation with the bomb disposal squad, and the threats proved to be “fraud.”

Talking to ANI, he said, “There is a conspiracy to destroy peace in the state. Karnataka is a progressive state and some elements are repeatedly trying to tarnish this image. Police officials have been instructed to consider these cases seriously. Those who threatened to bomb will be identified and arrested. Effective security and investigation measures will be taken. Necessary precautionary measures are being taken. Parents don’t have to worry. “

Bangalore Police Commissioner Kamal Pant told News18 that they were conducting a detailed investigation into the matter. Six schools – Delhi Public School (DPS) Bangalore East, Gopalan International, New Academy School, Vincent Paloti School, Indian Public School and Bangalore Rural Boundary Ebenezer International School – received emails with the same content between 10.15am and 11am.

The emails, a copy of which is in the possession of News18, read: “A very powerful bomb has been planted at your school, attention is not a joke, it is not a joke, a very powerful bomb has been planted in your school, immediately the police and sappers Call, hundreds of lives including yours could be lost, don’t delay, now everything is in your hands!

Separately, bomb detection and deactivation teams were dispatched to the threatened schools, said Subramanian Rao, Additional Commissioner of Police (East), Bangalore. “All the schools were searched and nothing of concern was found. Investigative teams are investigating the e-mail, Rao said.

“We will quickly find out who is behind this and take necessary action,” he said.

The police emptied threatened schools and came to the parents came to the children, they said, it was further confirmed that the test that was going on in some schools was not disturbed. The state is currently conducting Class X examinations.
