The Congress and the NCP on Wednesday accused the Narendra Modi government of looting the poor by raising petrol and diesel prices again. Petrol and diesel prices were hiked by 80 paise per liter on Wednesday, bringing the total rate to Rs 10 per liter in 16 days.
Modi government is continuing to loot the poor through fuel price hike! Petrol-diesel prices have risen by another 80 paise today and by Rs 10 in two weeks, Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole tweeted. Patole called the BJP government a pickpocket.
NCP spokesperson Clyde Crasto also called the saffron party looters (which improves looting) to hit the BJP on Twitter. Sneering at the BJP, Cresto shared a cartoon where he compared the party to a cowboy holding the tip of a fuel pump in both hands as if pointing a gun at a common man who had trained them.
The BJP’s election symbol Padma is in the place of the face of the cowboy shown in the cartoon. Enough to raise petrol-diesel prices, Crasto tweeted. The NCP and Congress are elements of the Shiv Sena-led MVA government.
