With the sharp rise in fuel prices in Meghalaya, the state government is planning to enlist the help of the Center to tackle the problem.
On Thursday, Deputy Chief Minister Preston Tinsong said his government would have to hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on raising petrol and diesel prices in the state.
On Thursday, the price of petrol in Shillong reached Rs 100.07 per liter. “I think we need to discuss this even with the Union Finance Minister and we have to take it with him and not just him but even the Prime Minister of India.”
Deputy Chief Minister Preston Tinsang has said that the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine has led to rising prices not only in Meghalaya but in the country and around the world.
