A police official in Guwahati said a complaint had been lodged with the Bharlumukh police station by the Bharatiya Janata Youth Front (BJYM), but it had not yet been registered. Lawyer Priyanku Pratin Parasore and legal co-incharge Abhinav Purkayastha, appearing for BJYM, alleged that while addressing a public meeting in Raigiri, Bhubaneswar district, on February 13, the Telangana chief minister had made remarks against the Indian Army for surgery. According to the complaint, he made highly derogatory remarks not only against the Indian Army but also against the Government of India and such action on his part was nothing but action against the Government of India as well as the Indian Army.
In his complaint, BJYM said that Rao’s remarks against the army and the government were disrespectful to the country’s sovereign body and by making such remarks he supported Pakistan’s propaganda and propaganda which portrayed India as very bad. The BJYM also submitted a compact disc containing video clips with its complaint and called on the Assam police to start a full investigation and punish Rao in accordance with the law.
