On his first visit to the national capital after being sworn in as Uttarakhand chief minister for a second term, Pushkar Singh Dhami met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh on Tuesday and submitted a memorandum on mountain-related demands. Status.
During his meeting with Modi, Dhami sought extension of GST compensation period due to limited financial resources of the state for Uttarakhand and requested the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research and the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research for each center to enhance innovation. The demands include a horticulture package of Rs 2,000 crore for Kashmir and an infrastructure project to connect various temples and archeological sites in Kumaon division of the state like the ‘Chardham’ project. Dhami also pushed for air services from Pithoragarh and submitted demands for rail services, among other various development requests, it said.
In a meeting with Home Minister Shah, the Chief Minister sought the Centre’s help in launching the “Snow Guard” project in the vicinity of the international border. This will help prevent migration from the border area, he said. List of demands in a meeting with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
Dhami also met BJP president JP Naddar. After being sworn in as chief minister after the BJP’s landslide victory in the state elections, Dhami will have to be elected to the assembly within six months as he lost his seat to Khatima.
